Dr. Breau is a urologic oncologist, associate professor of urology, and clinical epidemiologist at the University of Ottawa. He attended medical school at Dalhousie University and completed his urology residency at the University of Ottawa. He completed his urologic oncology and robotic surgery fellowship at Mayo Clinic and received a Master of Science in clinical and translational research from Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education.
His research has focused on prostate cancer, bladder cancer, and kidney cancer with multicentre clinical trials in each of these domains, including the Renal Hypothermia Trial, the Tranexamic Acid during Cystectomy Trial, and the Prostate Cancer Surgeon Report Card study. He has received over $6 million dollars in peer-reviewed research grants as primary or co-primary investigator. He serves on numerous leadership committees for the Canadian Urological Association, the American Urological Association, and Cancer Care Ontario. He is currently the co-chair of the Canadian Kidney Cancer information system, a prospective cohort of over 12,000 kidney cancer patients in Canada. In 2018, he was named an AUA Young Urologist of the year.
